Who is the real Berkey Water Filter System?
In looking for one, I quickly struggled to understand who the real Berkey was. There are a lot of websites claiming to be them or sell them. With a little research, I was able to determine who was the real Berkey Water Filter System.
- On instagram, Berkey breaks it down pretty simply. This link explains who is the actual Berkey, who claims to be and how to determine if someone is a certified dealer.
I expected we would have to change our Berkey Water Filter a few times a year, but after reading their blog, it’s actually A LOT less. In fact, depending on how much water you’re drinking and using, it could be anywhere from every 2-4 years.
Unfortunately some companies claim to be them and aren’t, so you have to be careful where you buy filters from. Last I heard you can’t buy the black filters anymore and they just announced a new filter. Not sure what the difference is, but Berkey is in a law suit with the EPA. Because the EPA changed its rules for how to sell water filtration and because it has silver in it they had to list it as a pesticide but it’s all bs, in my opinion!
We’ve had ours a few months now and I don’t know if we could ever go back. Water tastes great and we use it in our cooking as much as we possibly can. Hopefully this was helpful in breaking down the who’s who of the Berkey Water Filter System.
